What heart failure trials are recruiting?▾

Heart failure clinical trials span HFrEF (reduced ejection fraction) and HFpEF (preserved ejection fraction). HFpEF trials are especially active after the recent success of SGLT2 inhibitors. Trials test new diuretics, neurohormonal agents, gene therapies, and cardiac devices.

What ejection fraction is required for heart failure trials?▾

HFrEF trials typically require EF ≤40%. HFpEF trials usually require EF ≥50%, sometimes ≥45%. Mildly reduced EF (HFmrEF, EF 41–49%) has its own growing trial portfolio. Your echocardiogram report has your EF measurement.
